As Advising Coordinator, Dr. Bowman functions as a conduit between faculty and students and supporting the efforts of Trinity's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Starting Strong. She develops advising tools, degree plans, checklists, workshops, and adviser training for faculty. By informing and empowering students, she enables more compelling and holistic advising sessions to occur. Dr. Bowman develops strategic initiatives to promote student success and student retention within the Academic Affairs unit.
Jones, Ph.D. serves as the Vice President for Academic Affairs or Chief Academic Officer for the campus. She oversees all academic programs, the development and mentoring of faculty and professional staff of academic affairs, budget preparation and oversight, Coates Library, TU Press, Athletics, the Registrar, implementation of the strategic plan and administration of the Pathways curriculum. Before coming to Trinity, Jones served as Provost at Drake University in Iowa, and Dean and Professor of Education at Longwood University in Virginia.
Ms. Perales provides primary administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs: Curriculum and Faculty Development. She provides support to the University Curriculum Council, maintains faculty records in compliance with Trinity’s stated policies, and aids in event planning for the annual Z.T. Scott and Tenure and Promotion dinners.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs: Budget and Research, Sundermeyer provides comprehensive support and oversight to faculty and administrators seeking external funding for scholarship, research, equipment, curriculum development, travel, and other activities that strengthen teaching and scholarly/creative activity at Trinity University. She works to promote and enhance a culture of grant-seeking as a component of an engaged and active faculty.
Ms. DeLeon provides primary administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs: Student Academic Issues and Retention. She assists in the scheduling of individual student meetings and manages numerous events throughout the year, including, New Student Orientation, Convocation, and the Student Honors Awards Convocations. She facilitates the collection of honors theses.
Mrs. Simmons provides administrative support to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and is responsible for the day-to-day affairs associated with the responsibilities of the Vice President. Mrs. Simmons is responsible for maintaining the Vice President’s calendar and planning for campus events.
As Special Assistant to the Vice President, Dr. Jasinski reports directly to the VPAA and is responsible for a range of administrative and executive duties, special projects, and initiatives within academic affairs. At the direction of the VPAA, she provides logistical, organizational, and special project assistance. She collaborates with campus stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of the Trinity Tomorrow strategic plan and other priority initiatives.
