The Writing Center provides walk-in writing tutoring seven days a week. Hours are updated at the beginning of each semester and posted on the Writing Center website. In addition, this year we are piloting a series of evening workshops to further support students in their writing process. The workshop schedule for the Spring 2016 semester is located here.
Sometimes students require more than a workshop or an appointment at the Writing Center. For those students who need more extensive support, we encourage you to complete a Student Referral Form. Using the resources of the Writing Center and the Student Success Center, we will work to accommodate your student with additional academic support.
A Writing Center representative can visit your class at the beginning of the semester to give a brief introduction to the Writing Center and its services. To schedule, click here.
At the end of the Fall 2016 semester, the Writing Center will be soliciting exemplary FYE papers for our “FYE Writing Awards” series. From the submissions, a committee will choose four winners, who will receive campus-wide recognition for their achievements. These essays will be available online shortly after and will be available to all FYE instructors and peer tutors for use as models. If you know of any students who would be good candidates for these awards, please let them know.
