Once a student with a documented disability is enrolled at Trinity University, s/he can register with SAS. It is a student’s responsibility to self identify and request accommodations.
A student who wishes to register with SAS and seek accommodations must submit the SAS Application along with appropriate documentation of her/his disability to the Assistant Director of SAS.
This information can be delivered to SAS by mail, fax, or in person. Once SAS receives this information, the student will need to arrange an appointment to meet with the Assistant Director of SAS to determine eligibility and appropriate accommodations. While applications for SAS will be accepted at any point in the academic calendar, some time may be needed to verify the disability or to arrange accommodations. Accommodations are determined on an individualized, case-by-case basis.
The ADA and Section 504 are equal opportunity laws. As a result, students with disabilities are expected to meet the same academic and student conduct standards created for those individuals without disabilities. Students with disabilities are required to adhere to Trinity’s Academic Honor Code and Standards of Conduct, which can be found in the student handbook. Any student who is in violation of either of these standards will face the consequences accordingly.
