Graduate & Professional School

Students who wish to succeed in their graduate and professional school aspirations can work with career advisers who can assist them with their graduate school goals. A career adviser can assist students to develop an application strategy while helping to improve the quality of application materials, prepare students for onsite interviews, and review essays or letters of recommendation.

Career advisers are often asked, "what's the difference between graduate and professional school," or "what is professional school?"
There is a simple difference; graduate school implies that a student intends to apply to a masters level or PhD program. Professional school is a university that defers degrees required for specific careers and therefore requiring a specific education of licenses, practices, and standards: law, medical, veterinarian, optometry, dentistry, etc.

  • Review professional materials: resume, application, personal statement or submission essay
