The candidate for a baccalaureate degree must fulfill requirements for a major in one of the departments or in one of the interdisciplinary majors. Consult the Courses of Study for specific departmental degree requirements. Students apply for majors after they achieve sophomore standing and before achieving junior standing.
At least 18 semester hours, no fewer than 9 of which must be taken at Trinity, and no fewer than 9 of which must be advanced. A minor is not required for any degree.
At least 60 semester hours in courses outside the major. These hours may include Common Curriculum courses, a second major, a minor, or free electives.
At least 30 semester hours must be in upper-division courses (3000 - 4000 numbered courses).
At least 60 semester hours, including the last 30, must be earned in residence to complete a baccalaureate degree. At least 15 semester hours of the major must be earned in residence and at least 12 of those hours must be upper division. (See Courses of Study bulletin for exception for study abroad.)
A minimum of 124 semester hours is required for graduation in most majors (129 semester hours for a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science; 132 for a Bachelor of Music, Major in Choral or Instrumental Music, or 141 semester hours for a Bachelor of Music, Major in Performance or Composition.)
