2008-2013 Strategic Plan

Student Affairs professionals are educators committed to facilitating student learning as well as providing high-quality services. Through a co-curriculum that complements the academic curriculum, we support and challenge students in their development as individuals and as responsible global citizens.

Because we desire to ensure and enhance student learning, we have committed ourselves to the development, implementation, and assessment of a comprehensive Strategic Plan. During the 2007-2008 academic year, we clarified our shared mission, vision, and values and identified four divisional goals. Additionally, we specified 24 common learning outcomes that reflect the Social Change Model of Leadership Development. These foundational understandings guide the development of the annual strategies that comprise the evolving plan.

Most of the annual strategies promote one or more of our common learning outcomes; therefore, the assessment of student learning is a complementary component of the Strategic Plan. Under the leadership of the Divisional Assessment Team, the educators of our division investigate and report the educational outcomes of the programs and services they offer as strategies of the plan.

Our strategic planning process during 2008-2013 has strengthened the efforts of the Student Affairs personnel to optimally serve and teach Trinity University students.
