For summer study, financial assistance consists primarily of loans. Merit scholarships/grants may not be used for summer study. Students interested in borrowing through a student loan program must be enrolled in at least six semester hours. Need-based grant assistance through the Federal Pell Grant Program may also be available for students who are eligible.
Any federal student loan amount released for summer school will reduce your eligibility for the remainder of the academic year. This reduction will not be replaced during the fall/spring semesters with gift aid.
In order to receive timely notification of your summer aid award, we recommend that you electronically complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit the summer study application, along with any other requested documents by March 15.
