Trinity University requires all students, undergraduate and graduate, enrolled for nine or more semester hours or enrolled in a full-time graduate program to have current hospitalization and accident insurance.
You will be billed for health insurance.
To comply with the mandatory health insurance requirement all students will be billed for annual coverage of the student health plan in July.
You may apply for a waiver of Trinity health insurance.
If you have other personal health insurance and don’t want the student health plan you must submit an online insurance waiver annually. The waiver is available beginning in July through the end of add/drop, approximately 1 week after classes begin. A completed waiver that is approved by Health Services allows you to decline coverage and have the charge removed. Instructions will accompany your university bill. During the waiver period the waiver will be available online at Academic Health Plans Waiver.
If the waiver is not completed by the deadline you will be enrolled in the student health plan and the corresponding charge cannot be cancelled.
Details about what the plan offers
Details about the Student Health Insurance Plan with United Healthcare Student Resources are available on-line at Academic HealthPlans, Benefits. The 12-month premium for 2019-20 is $1460 payable with tuition for fall. Questions about the University sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan may be directed to Academic HealthPlans, Contacts.
Health Record Form-Required
Trinity students living on campus are required to have a complete Health Record form on file. This includes a completed physical exam form as well as information regarding immunizations and health insurance coverage.
All full-time students must submit the Health Record form to the Health Services before their initial registration at Trinity University. This Health Record includes the consent for treatment, signed by the student or parent/guardian, if the student is a minor.
We request your adherence to health record requirement, supported by the Texas Department of State Health Services, that students present proof of immunizations for diphtheria, tetanus, polio and measles, mumps and rubella.
Meningococcal Vaccination Required
Additionally, Meningococcal Vaccine is required by Texas state law and must be administered at least 10 days before the first day of classes.
