Responsible for ordering and receiving monographic publications, assisting with periodical and serial management, and assisting with the population and maintenance of the Digital Commons.
Processes acquisition orders and receipt for monographic purchases, including gifts; Resolves order problems and communicates with vendors and library staff; Collects, checks-in, and processes periodical issues, newspapers, serials, non-music standing orders, and microfilm; Maintains print serial records and OCLC holdings; Reviews vendor invoices and processes electronic invoice payment data; Maintains periodical issues and newspapers in Java City and in Current Periodical Shelves; Prepares bindery shipments and processes the completed volumes; Prepares and upload files to the Digital Commons; Reviews and tracks publisher permissions for faculty produced scholarship; obtain permissions from publishers as necessary; Assign metadata for Digital Common’s records; research and prepare metadata for records lacking descriptive elements; Train and supervise student assistant(s); Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality; Complies with all of Trinity University policies and guidelines; Performs other related duties as assigned.
One year experience in a library.
Use and knowledge of computers (web browsers, email, Microsoft Word, Google Documents, Adobe Acrobat software, Excel, scanning applications). Proficiency in all phases of work performed.
Required: High school graduate or its equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Usual office conditions. May work under pressure to meet office deadlines. Must be able to lift heavy boxes.
