Spring Family Showcase : Living Our Values

While all parents and families are encouraged to attend, the spring program is designed as a "showcase" weekend that may be particularly appealing to families of older students.

Spring Family Weekend Registration (Coates University Center, Lobby)
Please come by CUC to sign in, pick up a schedule, some swag, and a snack before starting your day. The Family Weekend Welcome Team is happy to provide directions or answer questions.

8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Attend an Open Class
Many faculty make their classes available for family attendance. 

10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Men and Women’s Track and Field (Trinity Stadium)
Trinity Invitational Meet

12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Lunch and Learn: What can you do with a Humanities degree?
Students meet with Trinity parents and alumni who majored in the humanities to discuss career paths and the key benefits that resulted from their choice of study. While this is intended for students, parents are welcome to attend. Please email careerservices@trinity.edu for more information.

2:30 p.m.
Food for Faith Fridays! (Parker Chapel, Meditation Chapel)
Come join in a half hour liturgy of Christian worship to anchor your weekend, followed by coffee, pastries, and conversation. Sponsored by Parker Chapel.

McGavock Senior Poster Presentation (Center for Sciences and Innovation, Entry Floor - The Cube)
Come and enjoy senior poster presentations highlighting innovative research in the study of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Student Leadership Awards (Chapman Center, Great Hall)
The Division of Student Life invites award recipients and their guests/families to attend the awards presentation and reception for student leadership and excellence.

4:00 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
McGavock Award Ceremony & Symposium Lecture (Center for Sciences and Innovation, 437)
The annual ceremony will feature the McGavock Senior Award presentation, followed by a research lecture given by Trinity alumna Katherine Klinger.

5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Skyline Room
Drop in for our casual gathering to meet fellow Parent Council members and learn about upcoming engagement opportunities. Not a member yet? Please come by to learn about how this dynamic group of ambassadors and investors enhances Trinity University. Students are welcome to join with their parents.

Each academic department will recognize students for their achievements in scholarship, research, or departmental involvement. Various other University awards and prestigious scholarships will also be presented.

President’s Reception, Student Experiential Learning Talent Showcase, Student Academic Talent Showcase (Center for the Sciences and Innovation, Room 282 and lobby)
All families are welcome to the President’s Reception and the Student Talent Showcase. Come explore projects of students who engaged in experiential learning through civic involvement, internships, undergraduate research, and study abroad opportunities. The Academic showcase will feature student demonstrations of their research and capstone projects.

Parking and Hotel Information

Alamo Stadium Parking Lots: The entrance to one parking lot is located at the traffic light directly across from the sidewalk to Northrup. The entrance to the other lot is just south of the light. Both lots are available on Friday from 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. On Friday, cars must be removed no later than 4:30 p.m. Both of these lots are closed to the university on weekends.

On Campus Parking: On Saturday and Sunday, the campus will be "open parking" for parents and family members. However, parking in fire lanes, loading docks and handicap areas (without permit) will not be permitted. Also, the 24-hour reserved parking signs on lower campus will be enforced.

Trinity has composed a list of hotels in the downtown and airport area of San Antonio, some at a discounted rate.
