Family Weekends

We look forward to having families and parents visit their students, Trinity's campus, and the San Antonio community.  

Check-In 

Please come by Coates University Center (CUC) to sign in, pick up a program and grab a cup of joe before starting your day. The Family Weekend Welcome Team is happy to provide directions or answer questions.

Parking

Alamo Stadium Parking Lots: The entrance to one parking lot is located at the traffic light directly across from the sidewalk to Northrup. The entrance to the other lot is just south of the light. Both lots are available on Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. On Friday, cars must be removed no later than 4:30 p.m. Both of these lots are closed to the university on weekends.

On Campus Parking: On Saturday and Sunday, the campus will be "open parking" for parents and family members. However, parking in fire lanes, loading docks and handicap areas (without permit) will not be permitted. Also, the 24-hour reserved parking signs on lower campus will be enforced.

Friday, April 8

Every Friday on Trinity’s campus is known as Maroon Friday. Please join us in school spirit by wearing maroon! Need Trinity gear? Check out this link to the university spirit store!

2:30 p.m. Food for Faith Fridays!

Come join in a half hour Christian service to anchor your weekend, followed by coffee, pastries, and conversation. Sponsored by Parker Chapel.

2:30 p.m. - McGavock Symposium Poster Presentation
(Center for Sciences and Innovation, 2nd Floor)
Come and enjoy student poster presentations highlighting innovative research in the study of Chemistry.

3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Student Leadership Awards
(Chapman Center, Great Hall)
The Division of Student Life invites award recipients and their guests/families to attend the awards presentation and reception for student leadership and excellence.

4:00 p.m. - McGavock Symposium Award Ceremony & Lecture
(Center for Sciences and Innovation, 437)
The annual ceremony will feature an award presentation, followed by a research lecture given by Chemistry alumna Victoria Tang ‘05

7:00 p.m. Baseball vs Texas Lutheran University
(TU Baseball Field, Lower Campus)

7:30 p.m. - Trinity Choral Union: Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass & George Shearing’s Songs and Sonnets

The 2016 Trinity Choral Union concert will feature the joyous "Gospel Mass" by Robert Ray. A highly uplifting and soulful setting for choir, soloists, and jazz trio. The concert will also feature  Songs and Sonnets by George Shearing. A choral suite of 7 popular Shakespeare texts uniquely composed by the jazz legend. The concert is free and open to the public.

Saturday, April 9

8:30am - 12:30pm Family Weekend Service Project
(Brighton Center, 265 E. Lullwood Ave)
Come and join fellow parents as we provide landscaping for the local agency Brighton Center. Brighton Center provides family & community education and developmental services to children with disabilities or delays. The center is within walking distance from campus. 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - Honor Awards Convocation

Each academic department will recognize and award students for their achievements in scholarship, research, or departmental involvement. Various other University awards and prestigious scholarships will also be presented.

10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - The Trinity Market 
(Between Coates Library and Hildebrand Avenue) 

Open every Saturday from 10am - 2pm*, The Trinity Market is an inclusive community of students, farmers, and entrepreneurs who are dedicated to providing food and wellness education to San Antonio residents.

10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - President’s Reception & Student Academic Talent Showcase
(Chapman Center, Great Hall)
All families are welcome to attend the President's Reception and Showcase featuring student demonstrations of their research projects and capstones.  

1:00/3:00 p.m. Softball vs. Austin (TX) College

Students will be presented with their Trinity rings at this memorable campus tradition hosted by the Trinity University Alumni Association and the Student Ambassadors.

One of Trinity's great traditions. See the best of student talent in song, dance, and much more.  Admission is free and seating is on a first come, first served basis. Sponsored by Student Programming Board & Parent Leadership Council

3:00pm Jazz Ensemble Concert
The Jazz Ensemble gives its Spring 2016 performance under the direction of Dustin Jessop at 3 p.m. in the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
