Shanghai Program

The Shanghai Program counts as study abroad experience for business majors, and graduating seniors may participate. The program is in English, and no previous knowledge of Chinese language required.

All majors are welcome to apply, and participation in the program allows a student to earn 6 credit hours in the following areas: BUSN, CHIN, ECON, PLSI, URBS.

Field Fellowship Scholarship:
All applicants to the 2017 Shanghai Summer Faculty-led Program are welcome to apply for Field Fellowships, generously funded by a graduate from the early years of the Chinese program. Awards will be based on financial need and/or academic merit. Thus, students who would not be able to attend the program without financial aid should certainly apply, but also those who exhibit a truly stellar academic record. Cost of the seven week program includes:

  • Round-trip airfare
  • Group airport pickup and drop-off
  • Lodging
  • Daily meal stipend

  • Cultural activities (museum visits, Tai chi, calligraphy, traditional Chinese medicine)
  • Weekend excursions: Wuzhen, Hangzhou, and four-day excursion to Beijing
