Robert F. Scherer (Ph.D., University Mississippi; MA, University of Redlands; and BA, Miami University) has served as a professor of management and as an academic administrator for over twenty-five years. Bob’s career in higher education has included assignments as business school dean and interim dean in both private liberal arts universities and comprehensive public universities. Prior to his career in higher education he held management positions in the insurance and consumer publishing industries.
Selected for the “Visionary Award,” Northeast Ohio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Cleveland, Ohio (November 2011).
Received the “John Otis Lifetime Achievement Award” for contributions to international business education from the North American Small Business Trade Educators (April 2007).
Selected as a Fulbright Senior Specialist to serve the Universidad de Concepción, Concepción, Chile in the development of a doctoral degree program, “Gestión Sustentable de Sistemas Organizacionales,” Facultad de Ingeniería, Departamento de Ingeniería Industrial (2009).
Named “Distinguished Visiting University Professor,” Universidad de Concepción, Concepción, Chile for contributions to the development and advancement of the university and the Facultad de Ingeniería (installation ceremony August 7, 2007).
Selected as a Fulbright Senior Scholar, J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, United States Information Agency, Washington, DC. As a Fulbright Senior Scholar to Chile, conducted research and taught courses in Team Building/Leadership, Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management, Marketing (all classes taught in the Spanish language) at Universidad de Concepción, Programa Magister en Ingeniería Industrial, and Diplomado en Servicio Social, Concepción; Universidad del Desarrollo, Programa Diplomado en Gestión de Comunicación Organizacional, Concepción; Universidad de la Frontera, Programa Magister en Gestión, Temuco; and Universidad de Magallanes, Punta Arenas. Received full stipend and living expenses in addition to Wright State University Professional Development Leave (100% funded) for nine months (1998 - 1999).

Member, HOME, Inc. Board of Trustees, Yellow Springs, Ohio. Elected to the board of this nonprofit community development corporation whose mission is to build homes for families with low and moderate incomes. Elected Treasurer (August 2000 - July 2002).
Member, Greene Metropolitan Housing Authority (GMHA) Board of Commissioners, Xenia, Ohio. Appointed by Greene County Common Pleas Court. GMHA has built and manages over 500 county housing units; funding received through U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to administer Section 8, low rent, and other housing programs (1993 - 1999).
