Community service & Involvement
Although I've been involved with the local Sierra Club, Inner-City Development, and several social justice organizations in San Antonio, it was not until retirement that I became a full-fledged activist on issues like climate change, air and water pollution, affordable housing and displacement, unjust utility rates, and now intergenerational climate justice. In addition to many articles in the Express-News and Rivard Report, some of my writing on water policy and water management are accessible here and here.
I have served in San Antonio's Climate Action and Adaptation Planning process on the Water and Natural Resources Technical Working Group. It's exciting to see Trinity moving toward a far more sustainable campus and student involvement. I hope my environmental advocacy with Trinity students, faculty, alumni and retired faculty will contribute to Trinity University's achievement of STARS accreditation in the near future.
