Maranda Larsen has seven years of experience in career services at both The University of Texas at Austin and Trinity University, and has recently joined CELCS in a part-time role as Employer Relations Coordinator. Maranda’s experience includes serving as career counselor, guiding and educating students in all aspects of the job search, including utilizing online recruitment services, conducting mock interviews, and teaching job search skills and ethics. She has coordinated large- and smaller-scale career events, presented dozens of career development workshops, and conducted outreach discussions with faculty, classes, and student organizations. Throughout her career, Maranda has also enjoyed interfacing and collaborating with external stakeholders, employers, community partners, and resources in order to connect students to these and other interests beyond graduation. In her current role, Maranda assists with career fair outreach, coordinates on-campus recruiting, and serves on a team planning future employer relations strategy for the career services office.
While working as a career counselor, Maranda obtained her Master of Education Administration degree with a higher education emphasis. Her practicum was completed in career services at UT Austin and involved creating, implementing, and managing a new podcast system for students. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Abilene Christian University.
Maranda and her husband and two sons recently returned from living in Germany for 3 years, and she enjoys bringing an international perspective to the field of career services.
