I received my Ph.D. in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University (2004) specializing in Aesthetics of Literature. With an emphasis on Comparative Literature, my M.A. in Literary Theory from Shandong Normal University was completed in 2001.
My undergraduate diplomas were in both Chinese literature and English from Shandong and Qufu universities respectively. I did my postdoc project on contemporary Chinese art in the Academy of Arts and Design at Tsinghua University (2004–2007). Before coming to Trinity (2007), I taught classical Chinese Literature at Chonbuk National University, South Korea. In 2005–2006, I was a visiting scholar in the U.S. at the East-West Center, Hawaii and Princeton University.
