Faculty Travel Grants

Submission Deadline: Rolling based on available funds. 

Background:

The Collaborative sponsors a small number of travel awards each year that enable faculty to attend teaching workshops and conferences hosted in North America. Particular preference will be given to applications which enable faculty to develop specific teaching methods and assignments or offer a presentation on what they learned. Awards may also be used to attend an event that focuses on methods of teaching within a discipline. However, they do not support travel for conferences focused solely on disciplinary research and content.

Expectations

  • Awards support travel for workshops and conferences focused on instruction and/or student learning in higher education.
  • Award recipients will provide a summary of their experience to benefit other faculty and staff at Trinity University. This may be accomplished in the form of a conference report for dissemination within their department or, where appropriate, as a luncheon discussion.

Applications should be emailed in Word and PDF format to the Collaborative's director, Tom Jenkins (tjenkins [at] trinity.edu).

Travel arrangements for award recipients will be made by the Collaborative's office manager, Evelyn Williams (ewillia1 [at] trinity.edu). Applicants are encouraged to contact the Collaborative prior to a proposal submission to assess award availability.
