Doug Hawthorne B.S. '69, M.S. - HCAD '72 was named a finalist of the 2014 D CEO magazine Excellence in Healthcare Awards. 

Joel Allison '73 was recognized as 2014 CEO of the Year in the D CEO magazine. 

Harvey Finkelstein '73 will serve as Congregational President for the 2014-2015 term of Congregation Beth Shalom in Clifton Park, NY. Finkelstein most recently served as the administrator for Glendale Home in Schenectady. Prior to that he served as President/Chief Executive Officer for the Jewish Health Care System of Rochester and as Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Home of Central New York in Syracuse. 

Bob Charron '78 became Chief Executive Officer at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRided, LA. 

 

David Carpenter '79 is now retired as of 2012 after 14 years as President and CEO of North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City. It was the busiest hospital in Kansas City at the time of his retirement. David lives in Carefree, AZ full time now. 

David Lambert, Ph. D. '79 is now retired. He lives in Ballwin, MO. 

Lt. Col. Charles Huskey '80 is now retired and is enjoying retirement with his wife of 47 years, Lynne. 

Karen Heath, M.D. '82 moved to St. Louis to retire due to multiple sclerosis that has gotten worse. She is now volunteering teaching at St. Louis University at the Family Medicine and Community Health Area with third and fourth year residents and seeing patients at Casa de Salud one day a week. She also does some work for the MS in St. Louis. She continues to enjoy life!

Dan E. Brown '83 is Chief Operating Officer of Mafraq Hospital, Abu Dhabi, UAE. His home address is in San Antonio, Texas. 

 

 

 

Fred Goldstein '84 is President and Founder of Accountable Health and Chair of the Board of Directors of Population Health Alliance and recently co-authored an article with David Nash, Dean of the Jefferson School of Population Health. The article titled "The Accountable Health Organization: Wave of the Future?" is featured in the July 2014 issue of Healthcare Innovation News. 

Tom Jackson '87 became Chief Executive Officer of Tomball Regional Medical Center (TRMC) in July 2014 in Tomball, TX after 17 years of service in the same capacity at College Station Medical Center (CSMC). While at CSMC, Jackson created the first emergency room pledge stating patients in the ER will wait no more than 30 minutes and also introduced a robotic surgery program. Jackson said he plans on further improving the ER pledge at TRMC, advancing the robotic surgery program and enhancing the throughput of patients at the hospital. 

Marc Lewis, Ph.D. '96 accepted a new job as Director, Bureau of Mental Health at the Mississippi Department of Mental Health in Jackson, MS. 

David Schultz '96 was named President at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington. His first day is December 15. 

Jim Bohnsack B.S. '97, M.S. -HCAD '99 was recently promoted to Vice President, Finance & Corporate Development of Conifer Health Solutions in Frisco, TX. 

In its August 2014 issue, Becker's Hospital Review recognized Jim Brown '99 and Parker Templeton '02 among 25 men and women who have demonstrated excellence in their organizations and professional lives before turning 40. Brown is CEO of Ambulatory Services at Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston, TX. Templeton is CEO of Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, LA. Becker's highlighted that, although they have reached great professional heights early in their careers, these health care leaders are poised for continued growth and considerable success for the rest of their careers. 

Vanessa Saenz Smith B.S. '94, M.S.-HCAD '99 was promoted to Market President for United Surgical Partners Intl, overseeing their facilities in Louisiana and Central/South Texas. Previously she was Regional Vice President in the Houston market for the company. 

 

Allan Castro '00 was named Chief Operating Officer of the Children's Rehabilitation Institute of TeletonUSA in San Antonio, TX. 

Jeff Patterson '04 made the Modern Healthcare's annual "Up and Comers" list. Jeff is Chief Operating Officer of Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA. 

Matthew van Leeuwe '09 accepted a new job as Chief Operating Officer at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, TX, as of August 2014. 

Roy Finch '10 was promoted to Chief Operating Officer at Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, TX. 

 

 

 

Patrick Halinski '11 was named Associate Chief Operating Officer at St. Luke's Baptist in San Antonio, TX. 

Blake Piro '12 recently accepted the position of Physician Relations Manager of Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake - Tenet Healthcare in Dallas, TX.
