Scholarships & Funding

First-year theatre students may apply for a prestigious Baker Duncan scholarship, among other scholarships available in the department. Theatre students also have the opportunity to tap the Drama Endowment Fund for self-initiated productions throughout the year.

Baker Duncan Scholarships

2019 Baker Duncan Auditions will be held January 26 and March 2, beginning at 1pm. Please contact rprestig [at] trinity.edu with any questions or to schedule your audition.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Fill out and submit an application online
  • Schedule an interview with the faculty of the theatre program on one of Trinity's Saturday preview programs in January and February. Technical theatre, stage management, theatre scholarship, directing, and design candidates must bring representative materials to support their areas of interest. Acting candidates must perform a 2-3 minute audition consisting of two short monologues, contrasting in style. Students auditioning and presenting portfolios may seek assistance from high school teachers or other theatre professionals in developing their presentations.

In addition to the online application, please email Roberto Prestigiacomo rprestig [at] trinity.edu the following:

  • a one-page essay describing their personal commitment to the art of theatre
  • a resume of all theatre credits, including both performance and technical experience
  • a digital photo

For more information or to submit your essay, photo, personal reference, and interview request, contact Roberto Prestigiacomo rprestig [at] trinity.edu or call 210-999-8585 for more information.

Drama Endowment Fund

Theatre majors have the opportunity to request funds from the Drama Endowment Fund for self-initiated productions. The Fund also provides for work with high-profile guest artists, who visit campus for six weeks each year to work on our main stage productions.
