Under the leadership of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Deneese L. Jones, we seek to nurture, support and celebrate the success of faculty related to teaching, advising, service, scholarship, research, and creative work.
In May 2015, the Trinity University Faculty Senate reiterated the importance of scholarship in faculty life, in contributing to the mission of the University, and the broader contributions of faculty scholarship to society in the “Statement on the Value of Faculty Scholarship.”
Because the University’s internal funding sources are generous, it is expected that faculty should familiarize themselves with the multiple forms of support and resources available across the campus to help them achieve their goals. In addition, the extraordinary success of Trinity faculty members in attracting funding from external sources is a strong statement that speaks to the caliber of research, scholarship, and creative activities.
Faculty funding needs typically fall into one of two categories:
To promote a culture of celebrating success, faculty members are encouraged to submit their accomplishments to the annual University publication IMPACT and additionally, to contact the office of Academic Affairs regarding their achievements and professional successes. Vice President Deneese Jones regularly includes such information in the “kudos” section of her monthly campus email message.
